Overview 2011

Fé 21 Championship

After much deliberation the club decided not to enter this year’s under 21 championships.

Underage

The club had a strong representation at all age levels again this year.

The Minors fulfilled all fixtures this year and the team will need to build on the experiences of this season if they are to move forward in 2012. Unfortunately there was no repeat of reaching last years final.

The under 16’s went though a development phase last year and are the one group where we do lack depth from the Ballymore end, having said that they managed to reach a quarter final in 2010 and went all the way to the final this year where they were narrowly beaten by St Brigids.

Under 14’s building on a good season last year the lads went one better during 2011. After playing well during the group stages of this years Division 3 Championship. The side ended in second place and clinched a well deserved final place where they played a well fancied Caulry side in Tubberclair. The match had all the making of a good game as Caulry were the only side to beat us and did so well during the earlier part of the season. In front of a huge crowd and against all the odds our lads played extremely well and took a very well deserved win. The medal presentation takes place in Milltown next Friday evening 16th December. Congratulations to all the players and mentors on a superb achievement.

The under 12’s, 10’s and under 8’s remains a strong sector for the club with both age group competing in several tournaments around the county and at Cusack Park. So strong is the interest that we have also the making of an unofficial under 6 team, long may this interest continue.
