2015 Overview

Intermediate Championship
2015 was a mixed year for the club. Ballymore took on Tubberclare in the first round in Tang in torrential rain. We went in at half time leading however an early goal gave Tubber clare the boost they needed. Our discipline waivered in the 2 nd half and this resulted in our opponents maximising on frees awarded to them.   We then met Shandonagh which resulted in a draw. This match was played in Killucan under very blustery conditions. The first half saw us winning however we gave away a number of frees which allowed our opponents to stay in the game. At one stage we were up by 6 points. They ended up getting a penalty in the 2nd half which allowed them to contend them game on the score board. The points they accumulated saw them go ahead of us by a point. However as the game went drew near to the final whistle ,Ballymore showed great character in fighting bitterly to the end and scoring a point from a free. Finally, a win came our way when we met CFCW in Kinnegad.Though it was a win for us we all felt we could have accumulated more scores on the day. Our winning ways were short lived as we met a strong Athlone team in Moate. Athlone scored a goal at the end of the first half, it appeared to have walked all over our grit as Athlone took over in the 2nd half. Their dominance was consistent throughout to the final whistle. It was a very disappointing 2nd half for us and overall it was one of our poorest displays. The Championship ended in a match versus Milltownpass in Milltown. We had a good first half and went in at half time leading. This continued into the 2nd half up to the point where Milltownpass were awarded a contentious free. This resulted in a draw match. This draw ended up knocking both teams out of the championship.

Intermediate Cup
This saw us playing 2 games, we lost by a point to Caulry and we drew again to Milltownpass.
Division 3
As you  can see from the tables provided that we accomplished a lot. Out of the 8 games we played we won 6, drew one and lost one. As yet we have that one game to play still, versus Milltown. The anticipation has mounted over the last few weeks as this is important for us to win. A win will see us promoted and then play in a League final.
Junior B
We played three games one of which we lost to Ballynacarrigy.
